The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Piotr Wierzcholek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tolek Puzio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Chwanióu SSA booed when Görbersdorf SSA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogdan Juzda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lucjan Misiewicz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hieronim Serwacki, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Jerzy Fink might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Piotr Wierzcholek. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jerzy Fink ran back to his position shaking his head. If Slawomir Cipinski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Slawomir Cipinski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Lucjan Misiewicz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Chwanióu SSA's Hieronim Serwacki sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lucjan Misiewicz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jerzy Fink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34th minute, Jan Walentowicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Jerzy Fink came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Görbersdorf SSA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerzy Fink couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute, Slawomir Cipinski made a precise shot to the right of Lucjan Misiewicz. Görbersdorf SSA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After the first half Chwanióu SSA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hieronim Serwacki stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Jerzy Fink managed to get in a good position for a shot. Görbersdorf SSA's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerzy Fink was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Piotr Wierzcholek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Waldemar Piechna charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Slawomir Cipinski in the 67th minute of play forced Görbersdorf SSA's goalkeeper Lucjan Misiewicz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerzy Fink sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 70 minutes of play, Görbersdorf SSA's Tolek Puzio made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Piotr Wierzcholek was left in no man's land by his defense there!
