The referee ignored Wierzgub's protests and gave Eugeniusz Gondek a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th minute, Ludomir Zacharek left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The GKS Katowice fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. In the 24th minute, Cezary Kasiewski reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zenon Maciejewski. The goal made the score 4-0. With a little luck, Wierzgub's Zenon Maciejewski got control of the ball when Ludomir Zacharek tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zenon Maciejewski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olgierd Cwojdak's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. Cezary Kasiewski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice moves Ludomir Zacharek could shoot a difficult shot in the 44th minute, which Zenon Maciejewski however easily saved by the left post. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Ludomir Zacharek notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Wierzgub's Zenon Maciejewski. Zenon Maciejewski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lucjan Werra to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucjan Werra in the 56th minute of play forced Wierzgub's goalkeeper Zenon Maciejewski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 59 played minutes Wierzgub got a freekick which was hit by Hieronim Banas. The GKS Katowice fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when GKS Katowice's Cezary Kasiewski looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Leszek Kapera made in the 70th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by GKS Katowice's Olgierd Cwojdak. Zachary Tomporowski kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. If Lucjan Werra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. Wierzgub's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GKS Katowice the free kick. Dominik Brysz went to the cornerflag to take it. GKS Katowice's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucjan Werra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zenon Maciejewski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zachary Tomporowski charged in rather forcefully in the 98th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Zachary Tomporowski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 98th match minute, Wierzgub was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zachary Tomporowski to maneuver through the defense. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. GKS Katowice fully deserved thier win.
