After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Alberto Marcovecchio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Legia Warszawa SA's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Marcovecchio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miroslaw Gollob breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Legia Warszawa SA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damaso Alonso was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Alve Søderholm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Margiris Nekrošius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaston Zárate to strike the kick off in the second half. Zacisze Częstochowa's Miroslaw Gollob played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stanislaw Klawki in the 52nd minute of play. If Stanislaw Klawki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zacisze Częstochowa's Przemyslaw Maldini was substituted for Gonzalo Firme. Miroslaw Gollob took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Marcovecchio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute Jurand Cempa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alve Søderholm saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 84 minutes, Miroslaw Gollob successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Legia Warszawa SA's Alberto Marcovecchio got a free kick in the 90th minute. Alve Søderholm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jurand Cempa in the 91st minute of play. In the 94th minute, Margiris Nekrošius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Zacisze Częstochowa had won after a very even match.
