The audience thought a goal was coming when Tore Barka got free with Arild Søberg in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 5th minute, Magne Rikardsen made a precise shot to the right of Lars Bjørsvik. Selsvik's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. The supporters of Refset FF booed when Selsvik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atle Kristensen didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tore Barka got free with Arild Søberg in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kristian Revheim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Arild Søberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arild Søberg stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kristian Revheim's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. The audience was convinced that Magne Rikardsen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lars Bjørsvik was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Lars Bjørsvik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johannes Christiansen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Kristian Revheim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

In the 69th minute Tore Barka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arild Søberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Refset FF's Arild Søberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tore Barka in the 71st minute of play. The supporters of Refset FF booed when Selsvik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Simen Løvaas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 77th minute, Erik Sandersen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 80 minutes, Kristen Børve mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Selsvik and the Refset FF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 80 played minutes Selsvik got a freekick which was hit by Kristen Børve. Lars Bjørsvik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johannes Christiansen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arild Søberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tore Barka, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Kristian Revheim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arild Søberg having to interfere. The referee gave Selsvik a penalty, 98 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Erik Sandersen, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Refset FF's Arild Søberg. 2-2. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
