In the 34thth minute of the game Idar Fossdal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sörvaagen's Edvin Harstad was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Runar Hætta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sörvaagen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Brøndby FK the free kick. In the 34th minute, Runar Hætta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenneth Albertsen's late challenge caught a Sörvaagen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kenneth Albertsen helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Brøndby FK's Kenneth Albertsen got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 37th minute, one of Brøndby FK:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Brøndby FK. Daniel Vikøren had in the 39thth minute some difficulties stopping Frode Grov's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Glenn Hildre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Vikøren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Glenn Hildre, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Glenn Hildre might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Daniel Vikøren. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Glenn Hildre ran back to his position shaking his head. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Idar Fossdal made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, Sindre Svanberg notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Sörvaagen's Edvin Harstad. Edvin Harstad was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Dan Nysveen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sörvaagen's supporters rose to their feet, but Dan Nysveen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daniel Vikøren breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christian Korsmo kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Daniel Vikøren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dan Nysveen in the 70th minute of the match. Daniel Vikøren made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Glenn Hildre sent off a good shot on target. Dan Nysveen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Vikøren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Nysveen in the 97th minute of play forced Brøndby FK's goalkeeper Daniel Vikøren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Brøndby FK had won after a very even match.
