The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jim Berland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oddvar Rødseth having to interfere. Ken Stokkan might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Per Fossmark. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ken Stokkan ran back to his position shaking his head. Ken Stokkan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mons Frydenlund could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Per Fossmark made a huge save. Arve Hjelde kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Svanøy defense, Inge Dahl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oddvar Rødseth. The Svanøy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oddvar Rødseth should have stopped the shot. In the 27th match minute, Svanøy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tarjei Holberg to maneuver through the defense. 28 minutes into the match, Grytöra's Atle Røkenes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After some careless play in the Svanøy defense, Inge Dahl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oddvar Rødseth. The Svanøy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oddvar Rødseth should have stopped the shot. Per Fossmark took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ken Stokkan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Ken Stokkan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Svanøy getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Aleksander Selmer hit a great ball.
Oddvar Rødseth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jim Berland in the 59th minute. In the 66th minute Ken Stokkan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Per Fossmark saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Ken Stokkan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Per Fossmark was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. With a little luck, Svanøy's Oddvar Rødseth got control of the ball when Jim Berland tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Svanøy booed when Grytöra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Runar Engeseth didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mons Frydenlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Per Fossmark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Svanøy's Mons Frydenlund got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Per Fossmark showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ken Stokkan, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
