Simen Rosland acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 3rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ulrik Aanes. After a rather tough play, Liaböen IF's Vidar Østrem got a free kick in the 6th minute. Simen Rosland made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Ivar Krasniqi sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Liaböen IF booed when Freste FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lars-Olav Øvergaard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Simen Rosland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth Nesvik, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Kenneth Nesvik sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eilert Henden made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars-Olav Øvergaard in the 28th minute of play. Kenneth Nesvik was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 30th minute. Liaböen IF's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Eilert Henden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars-Olav Øvergaard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Lars-Olav Øvergaard came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Freste FF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lars-Olav Øvergaard couldn't finish the play. In the 37th match minute, Liaböen IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jarle Romundstad to maneuver through the defense. Svend Tangen hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 41 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Liaböen IF's Ivar Krasniqi fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Eilert Henden didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sture Erichsen went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 48th minute, Liaböen IF's Kenneth Nesvik ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Simen Rosland. Simen Rosland yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kenneth Nesvik made a kick off. In the 56th minute, Freste FF's Lars-Olav Øvergaard ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eilert Henden. Eilert Henden yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Eilert Henden made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Lars-Olav Øvergaard sent off a good shot on target. Ulrik Aanes hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Svend Tangen's late challenge caught a Liaböen IF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Svend Tangen helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Freste FF getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Svend Tangen hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kenneth Nesvik in the 74th minute of play forced Freste FF's goalkeeper Simen Rosland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kenneth Nesvik struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Simen Rosland didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liaböen IF. 83 minutes into the match, Liaböen IF's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Woldseth came free, but Eilert Henden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Liaböen IF's Vidar Østrem pulled a muscle in his back after 85 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Liaböen IF made a substitution. Truls Olsen replaced Vidar Østrem. A collision led to Freste FF getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Lars Woldseth hit a great ball. Eilert Henden was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Sture Erichsen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sture Erichsen really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3.
