Jim Skagestad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oddbjørn Persson in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Havnnoes's goal looked a bit too open when Oddbjørn Persson came free, but Jim Skagestad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Havnnoes's Jim Skagestad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oddbjørn Persson in the 17th minute of play. Bjørnar Kleveland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Morten Benjaminsen made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Vidar Folkedal sent off a good shot on target. Ken Edvartsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Morten Benjaminsen having to interfere. Oddbjørn Persson took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jim Skagestad. Jim Skagestad dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. 0-4 became the score in the 35th minute when Bjørnar Kleveland elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bjørnar Kleveland in the 38th minute of play forced Havnnoes's goalkeeper Jim Skagestad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Raymond Smeby fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Havnnoes's protests and gave Raymond Smeby a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Havnnoes got a freekick which was hit by Raymond Smeby. When Bjørnar Kleveland, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 40 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jim Skagestad was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Oddbjørn Persson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Skagestad having to interfere. Bjørnar Kleveland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Jim Skagestad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jim Skagestad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oddbjørn Persson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When Oddbjørn Persson came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Gulsvik IF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oddbjørn Persson couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bjørnar Kleveland in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jim Skagestad saved Havnnoes from getting behind. In the 67th minute, Bjørnar Kleveland got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Oddbjørn Persson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Skagestad having to interfere. Morten Benjaminsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ken Edvartsen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jim Skagestad stood somewhat misplaced when Bjørnar Kleveland came free in front of goal and shot 0-5 to the left of him in the 81 minute. A hard shot 89 in the game by Oddbjørn Persson from a close distance when the talented Jim Skagestad managed to make a qualified save. Havnnoes's players were relieved. Jim Skagestad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bjørnar Kleveland in the 93rd minute of the match. Gulsvik IF's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
