Kversøy BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Å the free kick. During the 20th minute of the match Samuel Kjelstad completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Samuel Kjelstad a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Samuel Kjelstad hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Carl-Rune Jøssang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carl-Rune Jøssang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Sjøgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. After 25 minutes, Krister Fagervik mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Å and the Kversøy BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Å's Petter Urke in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kversøy BK's goalie prevented a goal. Petter Urke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Geir-Inge Gjøsund tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kyrre Myhre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Sjøgren having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Kyrre Myhre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Petter Urke was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petter Urke got free with Geir-Inge Gjøsund in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Carl-Rune Jøssang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Krister Fagervik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geir-Inge Gjøsund having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Petter Urke got free with Geir-Inge Gjøsund in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kversøy BK's Geir-Inge Gjøsund proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Kversøy BK from getting a goal against them. After having played for 68 minutes, John-Edvin Bakken managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Å's supporters crossed their fingers, but John-Edvin Bakken was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martin Sjøgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyrre Myhre in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Trond Schjølberg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Å's zone, Kyrre Myhre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Sjøgren came out of the goal and Kyrre Myhre tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Å's Torstein Lundemo got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Petter Urke could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Geir-Inge Gjøsund made a huge save. Petter Urke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Å could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Kversøy BK throughout the match.
