Espen Øen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odd Strandheim in the 13th minute of play forced Olsborg's goalkeeper Espen Øen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Odd Strandheim scored 0-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Espen Øen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 28 minutes into the match, Odd Strandheim notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Olsborg's Espen Øen. Espen Øen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alfred Dagestad's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Runar Tjemsland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Arne Grimsrud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Espen Øen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, Olsborg's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Grimsrud came free, but Espen Øen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arne Grimsrud recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Olsborg's Max Einan got a free kick in the 45th minute. Olsborg's Espen Øen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arne Grimsrud in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Runar Tjemsland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Børge Haram, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Runar Tjemsland took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred Dagestad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 57 minutes, Odd Strandheim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bækken's supporters crossed their fingers, but Odd Strandheim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arne Grimsrud in the 59th minute of play forced Olsborg's goalkeeper Espen Øen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Runar Tjemsland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Dagestad, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 77 minutes into the game, Børge Haram cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Runar Tjemsland was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Alfred Dagestad came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Olsborg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Dagestad couldn't finish the play. 88 minutes into the match, Olsborg's Alfred Dagestad sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Runar Tjemsland narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alfred Dagestad fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Runar Tjemsland having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Olsborg's Ragnar Nordskog got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
