In the 4th minute, Harald Ingebrigtsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sagfjord IL's Idar Leirvåg got a free kick in the 14th minute. Harald Ingebrigtsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Odin Sæthre tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Odin Sæthre made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harald Ingebrigtsen in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to Sagfjord IL getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Trond Havik hit a great ball. After 26 minutes of play, Sagfjord IL's Thomas Haver made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gjermund Øvrum was left in no man's land by his defense there! A collision led to SurMaga IL getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Anders Magerøy hit a great ball. Gjermund Øvrum made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Arne Anderssen in the 39th minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Ulrik Leistad was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sagfjord IL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SurMaga IL the free kick. Ulrik Leistad hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Sigve Knudsen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odin Sæthre having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sagfjord IL's zone, Harald Ingebrigtsen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Odin Sæthre came out of the goal and Harald Ingebrigtsen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Sagfjord IL were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Harald Ingebrigtsen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Thomas Haver shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gjermund Øvrum saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gjermund Øvrum took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Haver, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 61 minutes into the match, SurMaga IL's goalkeeper Gjermund Øvrum had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jan-Arne Anderssen. After having played for 67 minutes, Jan-Arne Anderssen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sagfjord IL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jan-Arne Anderssen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 71st minute, Harald Ingebrigtsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, SurMaga IL's Carl-Rune Liseth broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 73 minutes into the game, Espen Henriksen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sagfjord IL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SurMaga IL the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Espen Henriksen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harald Ingebrigtsen succeeded in the game's 76th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. In the 80thth minute of the game Ulrik Leistad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SurMaga IL's Gjermund Øvrum was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thomas Haver received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gjermund Øvrum came out and tried to block the shot, but Thomas Haver slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 87th minute. If Harald Ingebrigtsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Haver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
