The supporters of Havnen booed when Melby Ballklubb was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Øye didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Eric Eikeland fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Havnen's protests and gave Eric Eikeland a yellow card for diving instead. In the 23rd minute Asmund Miljeteig suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Melby Ballklubb made a substitution. Jørgen Årdal replaced Asmund Miljeteig. Stian Evensen hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. David Skjolden charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joakim Raastad made a kick off. 53 minutes had been played when some careless play by Havnen's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Oddvar Bergo was slow to take the kick. During this time Melby Ballklubb's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Melby Ballklubb's corner Oddvar Bergo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Valdemar Strandheim quite easily take care of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oddvar Bergo in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdemar Strandheim saved Havnen from getting behind. If Joakim Raastad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 played minutes Melby Ballklubb got a freekick which was hit by Niklas Nyvoll. Sturle Bjerkan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jan-Frode Storm in the 67th minute of play. Sturle Bjerkan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kai Brænd in the 72nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jan-Frode Storm in the 80th minute of play forced Melby Ballklubb's goalkeeper Sturle Bjerkan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Melby Ballklubb's goal looked a bit too open when Stian Evensen came free, but Sturle Bjerkan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 85 minutes, Oddvar Bergo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Melby Ballklubb's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oddvar Bergo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sturle Bjerkan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan-Frode Storm in the 89th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Oddvar Bergo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Strandheim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 91 played minutes Melby Ballklubb got a freekick which was hit by David Skjolden.
