He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After having played for 13 minutes, Niklas Øvstedal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oltesvik FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Niklas Øvstedal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Odd Bjørndal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Niklas Øvstedal in the 15th minute of the match. Jan-Kenneth Selvik hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 23rd minute of the match Josef Øvrum sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Odd Bjørndal skillfully saved the ball. Niklas Øvstedal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Odd Bjørndal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, AFRIKA's goal looked a bit too open when Niklas Øvstedal came free, but Odd Bjørndal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37thth minute of the game Niklas Øvstedal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but AFRIKA's Odd Bjørndal was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 38th minute, Fredrik Nesbø hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Odd Bjørndal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Øvstedal in the 41st minute of play. Truls Aasheim's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Odd Bjørndal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Truls Aasheim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Odd Bjørndal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Niklas Øvstedal to make the kick off. Jon-Erik Grønås fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ørjan Malvik having to interfere. Kenneth Bang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of AFRIKA booed when Oltesvik FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenneth Husøy didn't get a good kick on the ball. AFRIKA's Krister Borch was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ørjan Malvik in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Kenneth Bang managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFRIKA's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenneth Bang was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ørjan Malvik breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jon-Erik Grønås sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Jon-Erik Grønås got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Niklas Øvstedal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Odd Bjørndal made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Truls Aasheim sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niklas Øvstedal in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Odd Bjørndal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 86 minutes into the game, Krister Borch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFRIKA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Oltesvik FF the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in AFRIKA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 85th minute. Penalty! Truls Aasheim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Odd Bjørndal made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Truls Aasheim sent off a good shot on target. When the match was over Oltesvik FF could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than AFRIKA throughout the match.
