Odd Skarbø showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Endre Sagen in the 13th minute of the match. After 21 minutes, Ørjan Petterson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gjelta IF and the Holmen BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ørjan Petterson hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After 22 played minutes, Holmen BK's Kai Singstad shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Didrik Juul came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Holmen BK reached it. Endre Sagen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Odd Skarbø having to interfere. In the 36th match minute, Gjelta IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Filip Herstad to maneuver through the defense. Aksel Øwre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Didrik Juul having to make a save. Didrik Juul took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustav Holmen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustav Holmen in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Didrik Juul saved Gjelta IF from getting behind. 47 minutes into the game, Mikael Langeland was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gjelta IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Holmen BK the free kick. After 47 played minutes Gjelta IF got a freekick which was hit by Mikael Langeland. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Endre Sagen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Gjelta IF getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Bjarne Vaksdal hit a great ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Bjarne Vaksdal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Holmen BK's Odd Skarbø was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bjarne Vaksdal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Aksel Øwre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute of the match Dagfinn Aas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Odd Skarbø skillfully saved the ball. Odd Skarbø showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Endre Sagen, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. When Øyvind Stavland fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gjelta IF's protests and gave Øyvind Stavland a yellow card for diving instead. With a little luck, Gjelta IF's Didrik Juul got control of the ball when Aksel Øwre tried to sneak it across the goal line. Aksel Øwre succeeded in the game's 90th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After 96 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle.
