A collision led to Hjellset getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Åsmund Seierstad hit a great ball. If Runar Jonsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 15 in the game by Emanuel Berisha from a close distance when the talented Alexander Knutsen managed to make a qualified save. Jan Mayen FK's players were relieved. 18 minutes into the match, Jan Mayen FK's goalkeeper Alexander Knutsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emanuel Berisha. Christian Thommesen was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 19th minute. Hjellset's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. August Dahlberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Steinar Dramstad in the 28th minute of the match. With a little luck, Jan Mayen FK's Alexander Knutsen got control of the ball when Emanuel Berisha tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The wind increased when Steinar Dramstad made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Åsmund Seierstad got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Runar Jonsson got free with August Dahlberg in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. August Dahlberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steinar Dramstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. A collision led to Hjellset getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ulf-Hendrik Skjevik hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Jan Mayen FK's Birger Stadheim tried to score from far away in the 60th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After 62 played minutes Hjellset got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Berisha. Christian Thommesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 71 played minutes Jan Mayen FK got a freekick which was hit by Morten Anthonsen. After 75 minutes, Birger Stadheim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jan Mayen FK and the Hjellset players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Hjellset booed when Jan Mayen FK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Stadheim didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Hjellset's Jørund Aasheim broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Christian Thommesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Christian Thommesen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexander Knutsen. Jan Mayen FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Christian Thommesen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. August Dahlberg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Steinar Dramstad showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 89 minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hjellset fans cheered their team off the field, for while Jan Mayen FK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
