The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Catalunya FC's Pål Mathiesen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Niklas Haugsvær narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 36th minute of the game. One of Mañana BK:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Catalunya FC:s goal. Pål Mathiesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Peter Melum made the kick off in the second half. Peter Melum received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Peter Anfinsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peter Anfinsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Melum in the 54th minute of the match. Mañana BK's Niklas Haugsvær played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pål Mathiesen in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Stig Brakstad got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Catalunya FC booed when Mañana BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Melum didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Catalunya FC fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Catalunya FC's Pål Mathiesen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
