If Raymond Sjøli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jørund Nordhagen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raymond Sjøli, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Jørund Nordhagen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raymond Sjøli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 16th minute, Tor-Kristian Derås left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yttervåg fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After having played for 22 minutes, Raymond Sjøli managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grunnfør FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raymond Sjøli was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vidar Bjørgo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vidar Bjørgo in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Birger Sørby saved Grunnfør FF from getting behind. Tor-Kristian Derås struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Birger Sørby didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Yttervåg. Vidar Bjørgo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Emil Andresen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 47 minutes had been played when some careless play by Grunnfør FF's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Asle Hildrum was slow to take the kick. During this time Yttervåg's players had a chance to rest. After the first half Yttervåg were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Fredrik Kihle charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fredrik Kihle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 58 played minutes Yttervåg got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Kihle. 61 minutes into the match, Grunnfør FF's goalkeeper Birger Sørby had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tor-Kristian Derås. Daniel Brustad might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jørund Nordhagen. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Brustad ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th minute, Asle Hussein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Grunnfør FF's Daniel Brustad got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vidar Bjørgo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Birger Sørby made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tor-Kristian Derås in the 84th minute. With a little luck, Grunnfør FF's Birger Sørby got control of the ball when Tor-Kristian Derås tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Yttervåg booed when Grunnfør FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarle Isaksen didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Yttervåg had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
