After 38 played minutes, New England Patriots's Ole-Petter Løchen shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hans-Kristian Smistad came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in New England Patriots reached it. If Svein Schjelderup had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lars Hagland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anton Daae in the 45th minute of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tim Ring was the one to do the kick off. Fredrik Nordland's late challenge caught a Norwegian Bulldog Team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A collision led to Norwegian Bulldog Team getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Tim Ring hit a great ball. 94 minutes into the match, New England Patriots's Svein Schjelderup sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hans-Kristian Smistad narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Tim Ring's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lars Hagland was relentless in the 96th minute of the game. Norwegian Bulldog Team's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
