An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Nils Marstein got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 28th minute, Ekeberg's Nils Marstein dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The supporters of Mæskelven booed when Ekeberg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rolf Idsøe didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Odd Thorsø came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Mæskelven fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Odd Thorsø couldn't finish the play. Tore Celius fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joachim Remme having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Ekeberg's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Nielsen came free, but Joachim Remme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nils Marstein made a kick off. Joachim Remme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odd Thorsø, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Nils Marstein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jimmy Bryhn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Skei read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Ekeberg defense, Tore Celius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joachim Remme. The Ekeberg fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joachim Remme should have stopped the shot. Jimmy Bryhn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Skei having to interfere. Nils Marstein received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Jonathan Skei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nils Marstein's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Skei read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nils Marstein in the 88th minute of play forced Mæskelven's goalkeeper Jonathan Skei to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute Jimmy Bryhn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Skei saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Jimmy Bryhn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
