The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Birger Andresen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 2nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John-Edvin Nydal having to interfere. In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vestbøstad BF's goalkeeper John-Edvin Nydal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 6th match minute, Vestbøstad BF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Are Gjelsvik to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the match, Vestbøstad BF's goal looked a bit too open when Birger Andresen came free, but John-Edvin Nydal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John-Edvin Nydal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Birger Andresen, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Birger Minge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 20 played minutes Svanvik got a freekick which was hit by Kjetil Elvenes. Emanuel Karlson was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Alexander Wulff. After 27 minutes, Christer Helliesen made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Vestbøstad BF's John-Edvin Nydal tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christer Helliesen in the 30th minute of play forced Vestbøstad BF's goalkeeper John-Edvin Nydal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Christer Helliesen in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John-Edvin Nydal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hugo Kraft charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hugo Kraft the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th match minute, Svanvik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Kraft to maneuver through the defense. 42 minutes into the game, Christer Helliesen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. John-Edvin Nydal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christer Helliesen made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Birger Andresen got free with John-Edvin Nydal in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 57 minutes into the match, Svanvik's Birger Andresen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that John-Edvin Nydal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Per-Kristian Kvello fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Svanvik's protests and gave Per-Kristian Kvello a yellow card for diving instead. Ole-Petter Økland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Emanuel Karlson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John-Edvin Nydal was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Birger Andresen capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Birger Andresen really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. When Christer Helliesen got free in front of the goal in the 74th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. John-Edvin Nydal was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 83 minutes into the match, Vestbøstad BF's goal looked a bit too open when Christer Helliesen came free, but John-Edvin Nydal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. John-Edvin Nydal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Christer Helliesen's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Kjetil Elvenes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Svanvik's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vestbøstad BF the free kick. Kjetil Elvenes hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Svanvik's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
