The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 6 minutes into the game, Torkel Leknes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rörosgaard's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gjeving FF the free kick. After 6 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Rörosgaard! Balder Bjørnstad made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Idar Godø in the 16th minute of play. Tarjei Staff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cornelius Følstad having to interfere. Balder Bjørnstad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Idar Godø, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Kent-Are Knutsen fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gjeving FF's protests and gave Kent-Are Knutsen a yellow card for diving instead. After 32 played minutes Gjeving FF got a freekick which was hit by Kent-Are Knutsen. Idar Godø fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Balder Bjørnstad having to interfere. Fred Skogsrud struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Balder Bjørnstad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rörosgaard. In the 42nd minute, Idar Godø ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Balder Bjørnstad was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 46th minute, Fred Skogsrud got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Martin Løvdal to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Gjeving FF's Steinar Sangolt got a free kick in the 57th minute. After 61 minutes of play Gjeving FF's Kent-Are Knutsen was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 66th minute Tarjei Staff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelius Følstad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Gjeving FF's zone, Idar Godø stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Balder Bjørnstad came out of the goal and Idar Godø tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Idar Godø received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Balder Bjørnstad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Rörosgaard booed when Gjeving FF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steinar Sangolt didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fred Skogsrud in the 76th minute of play forced Gjeving FF's goalkeeper Balder Bjørnstad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fred Skogsrud sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gjeving FF's Balder Bjørnstad proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Gjeving FF from getting a goal against them. Idar Godø could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Balder Bjørnstad made a huge save.
