The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Krister Bøthun during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jesper Larsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Knut Amundsen in the 53rd minute of the match. After 60 played minutes, Straum's William Vestrheim shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jesper Larsen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Straum reached it. 64 minutes into the match, Straum's goal looked a bit too open when Jon Bakke came free, but Arthur Giæver reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 69 minutes of play, Straum's Tor-Arne Buseth made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jesper Larsen was left in no man's land by his defense there! Straum's Arthur Giæver proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Straum from getting a goal against them. When Sindre Skjelbred fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Straum's protests and gave Sindre Skjelbred a yellow card for diving instead. After 82 played minutes Straum got a freekick which was hit by Sindre Skjelbred. If Knut Amundsen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Aremark IF eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
