The audience thought a goal was coming when Tim Thøgersen got free with Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sigurd Nystuen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivar Holand in the 14th minute of the match. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tim Thøgersen couldn't finish the play. 31 minutes into the match, Beyene FC's Morten Soltveit sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tim Thøgersen in the 34th minute. 37 minutes into the match, Tim Thøgersen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen. Øvre's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tim Thøgersen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Nils-Christian Salamonsen was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 41 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Beyene FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Øvre:s goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dag Mathiesen to make the kick off. Sigurd Nystuen was a little too slow when Dag Mathiesen got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 51st minute. The score was now 2-2. Beyene FC's Sigurd Nystuen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Beyene FC from getting a goal against them. Morten Soltveit received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 58 minutes, Sture Krogh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Beyene FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sture Krogh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 60 minutes into the game, Morten Soltveit cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd minute, Morten Soltveit made a precise shot to the right of Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen. Øvre's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. 5-2 became the score in the 69th minute when Morten Soltveit elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Morten Soltveit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen having to interfere. Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sture Krogh in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to Øvre getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Daniel Mydland hit a great ball. When Beyene FC's Morten Soltveit in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sture Krogh in the 86th minute of play. Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Morten Soltveit went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-2 was the resulting score. If Morten Soltveit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dagfinn Størseth took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen. Ulf-Hendrik Frøyen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-2. Beyene FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
