Porto fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Porto fc's Odd Davidsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bjørn Åsen in the 20th minute of play. After some careless play in the Porto fc defense, Cai Sommervold kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Odd Davidsen. The Porto fc fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Odd Davidsen should have stopped the shot. Odd Davidsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nils-Christian Gjermundsen, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Bjørn Åsen took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Odd Davidsen. Odd Davidsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. 32 minutes into the match, Porto fc's goal looked a bit too open when Cai Sommervold came free, but Odd Davidsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cai Sommervold received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Odd Davidsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 36 minutes into the match, Porto fc's goal looked a bit too open when Glenn Thommesen came free, but Odd Davidsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Romeo Loiola fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Sven Horgen, passed just outside the right post. After 39 played minutes Porto fc got a freekick which was hit by Kjetil-André Hageland. Sven Horgen acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 44th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Atle Ness. In the 48th minute Cai Sommervold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Odd Davidsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Jøssingfjord were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cai Sommervold to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Romeo Loiola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Horgen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Jøssingfjord's zone, Eivind Rognstad stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sven Horgen came out of the goal and Eivind Rognstad tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nils-Christian Gjermundsen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Odd Davidsen made a huge save. In the 64th minute of the match Atle Ness shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven Horgen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 66 minutes into the game, Jøssingfjord's Glenn Thommesen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Odd Davidsen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. In the 69th minute Eivind Rognstad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sven Horgen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the match, Porto fc's goal looked a bit too open when Cai Sommervold came free, but Odd Davidsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Odd Davidsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cai Sommervold in the 78th minute of play.
