Ruben Kalland charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ruben Kalland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Flatebygd FK booed when Orvik IF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruben Kalland didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Kenneth Østensen came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Flatebygd FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kenneth Østensen couldn't finish the play. Valdemar Bakkan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Ruben Teien tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martin Karlsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 18 minutes, Casper Syrstad mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Orvik IF and the Flatebygd FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 19th minute, Casper Syrstad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Flatebygd FK getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Reidar Mogen hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Orvik IF's zone, Kenneth Østensen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruben Teien came out of the goal and Kenneth Østensen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdemar Bakkan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ruben Teien having to interfere. Eric Rudi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruben Kalland in the 33rd minute of play forced Flatebygd FK's goalkeeper Jan-Kenneth Myhra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruben Teien stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valdemar Bakkan's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Flatebygd FK's Jan-Kenneth Myhra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Flatebygd FK from getting a goal against them. Flatebygd FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Cato Moss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ruben Teien breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 77th match minute, Orvik IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Bergerud to maneuver through the defense. Martin Karlsen blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ruben Teien having to make a save. Flatebygd FK's Cato Moss got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flatebygd FK were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
