Birk Ose started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes into the match, Kapp If's goalkeeper Vebjørn Hexeberg had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frode Evenstad. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pål Thune got free with Vebjørn Hexeberg in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute, Fabian Stray got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frode Evenstad got free with Vebjørn Hexeberg in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Frode Evenstad could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Vebjørn Hexeberg made a huge save. Lybæk BF's Marius Tessem played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Stray in the 30th minute of play. Pål Thune came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vebjørn Hexeberg could save by the left post. When Christer Voldsund fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lybæk BF's protests and gave Christer Voldsund a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kapp If booed when Lybæk BF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christer Voldsund didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marius Tessem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabian Stray's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Fabian Stray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Marius Tessem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fabian Stray was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute, Birk Ose hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 61 minutes into the match, Kapp If's goal looked a bit too open when Frode Evenstad came free, but Vebjørn Hexeberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Yngve Kolle took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Marius Tessem to make any attempt to save it. In the 71st minute Fabian Stray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marius Tessem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Christer Voldsund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vebjørn Hexeberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frode Evenstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Kapp If's Vebjørn Hexeberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frode Evenstad in the 80th minute of play. Fabian Stray who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Marius Tessem when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Lybæk BF's Sebastian Krog got a free kick in the 94th minute. A collision led to Lybæk BF getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Andreas Øines hit a great ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Lybæk BF were victorious despite being under pressure from Kapp If for much of the match.
