The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Nykland BK's Fred Haagensen got control of the ball when Kyrre Juul tried to sneak it across the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 16th minute when Ståle Bjørgum elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 20th minute of the match Halvor Sørbø sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ken Stenberg skillfully saved the ball. Ken Stenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rikard Stokkenes in the 24th minute of play. When Jo Guldbrandsen fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Teisen I.F's protests and gave Jo Guldbrandsen a yellow card for diving instead. Jo Guldbrandsen kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Nykland BK's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Kevin Gulliksen scored to the left of an out of position Fred Haagensen, making the score, 1-1. In the 42nd minute, Nykland BK's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Aslak Jæger fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. If Kevin Gulliksen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Nykland BK's Fred Haagensen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevin Gulliksen in the 52nd minute of play. Fred Haagensen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyrre Juul in the 59th minute of play. 60 minutes into the match, Teisen I.F's Kevin Gulliksen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fred Haagensen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kevin Gulliksen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Haagensen having to interfere. In the 66thth minute of the game Ståle Bjørgum who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Teisen I.F's Ken Stenberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 68th minute, Kevin Gulliksen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute, Kevin Gulliksen ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fred Haagensen was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 76 minutes into the match, Teisen I.F's Kevin Gulliksen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fred Haagensen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Theodor Baltzersen hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Kyrre Juul struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Fred Haagensen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Teisen I.F. Kyrre Juul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martin Steen struck a weak shot in the 88th minute.
