If Casper Stavnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Øyvind Høiberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jøran Mæhlum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jøran Mæhlum was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Runar Bu. The supporters of lørenskog IL booed when Newton Heath was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reidar Bakke didn't get a good kick on the ball. Casper Stavnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Jøran Mæhlum tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Øyvind Høiberg, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 72 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Jøran Mæhlum was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Casper Stavnes managed to get in a good position for a shot. lørenskog IL's supporters rose to their feet, but Casper Stavnes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jøran Mæhlum breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Newton Heath's Jøran Mæhlum played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Casper Stavnes in the 95th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. lørenskog IL had played much better football throughout.
