After 20 played minutes Godøysund got a freekick which was hit by Jon-Erik Østenstad. Bent Brenden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christoffer Nordskog having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.
56 minutes into the match, Godøysund's goalkeeper Andreas Nøttveit had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Trond Gunnes. Jo Petersen kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Andreas Nøttveit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jo Petersen, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After a rather tough play, Faxe's Torbjørn Sørland got a free kick in the 69th minute. The referee felt a red card was in order, 73 minutes into the game, when Ulf-Hendrik Kolseth put in a rough tackle. The referee gave Godøysund a penalty, 75 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tor Blystad, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Faxe's Christoffer Nordskog. 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Godøysund's zone, Trond Gunnes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andreas Nøttveit came out of the goal and Trond Gunnes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Faxe's Trond Gunnes got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Christoffer Nordskog took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dagfinn Ekstrøm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trond Gunnes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Nøttveit having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trond Gunnes got free with Andreas Nøttveit in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jon-Erik Østenstad kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. If Trond Gunnes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 99th minute, Dagfinn Ekstrøm got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Faxe players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
