The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Saltvikhavnen IF booed when Light was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nils-Johan Brenne didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Jimmy Sørdal put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Seth Robin. In the 20th minute, Stian Kjelstad fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. When Stian Kjelstad came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Light fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stian Kjelstad couldn't finish the play. Stian Kjelstad might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brage Lekven. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stian Kjelstad ran back to his position shaking his head. Egil Aagaard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Light's Brage Lekven threw himself towards the right post 28 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Stian Kjelstad, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jimmy Sørdal to make the kick off. Stian Kjelstad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Brage Lekven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Light fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Kåre Skavhaug kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Anders Arntzen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Saltvikhavnen IF's supporters rose to their feet, but Anders Arntzen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Seth Robin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 75th minute, Vebjørn Martinsen got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jimmy Sørdal in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Seth Robin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sivert Oksnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Seth Robin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The Saltvikhavnen IF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Saltvikhavnen IF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
