Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Steffensen took the kick off in the first half of the match. 7 minutes in the game, Kim Stavem fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without August Lied having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Birkjeland's Kim Stavem slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of August Lied. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. In the 20th minute of the match Joachim Rognstad shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but August Lied showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bjørn Bakkelund in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jo Idsø saved Birkjeland from getting behind. Bjørn Bakkelund scored 1-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jo Idsø, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Birkjeland's goalkeeper Jo Idsø, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Bjørn Bakkelund's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jo Idsø was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. After having played for 39 minutes, Bjørn Bakkelund managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nesseby BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bjørn Bakkelund was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Åge Karlsen in the 42nd minute of play forced Birkjeland's goalkeeper Jo Idsø to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bjørn Bakkelund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Birkjeland's Kim Stavem got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The wind increased when Bjørn Bakkelund made the kick off in the second half. Daniel Steffensen scored 2-1 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of August Lied, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Bjørn Bakkelund had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 59 minutes, Gard Skagen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Birkjeland and the Nesseby BK players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th match minute, Birkjeland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gard Skagen to maneuver through the defense. Jo Idsø showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bjørn Bakkelund, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. If Kim Stavem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Birkjeland's Kim Stavem got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Nesseby BK defense, Daniel Steffensen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of August Lied. The Nesseby BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that August Lied should have stopped the shot. August Lied made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kim Stavem in the 81st minute of play. 83 minutes had been played when some careless play by Nesseby BK's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Lars Killi was slow to take the kick. During this time Birkjeland's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Birkjeland's corner Lars Killi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and August Lied quite easily take care of the ball. August Lied made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Steffensen in the 87th minute of play. Gard Skagen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. August Lied tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chris Salte hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Nesseby BK's Kjetil Nese tried to score from far away in the 93rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Birkjeland fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nesseby BK had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
