The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Alhusstranda's goal looked a bit too open when Arne Anwar came free, but Bernt Gausdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kristian Mjelde recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halvard Østvang in the 17th minute of play forced Säterbö's goalkeeper Eirik Solheim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Lars-Olav Vindenes fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Säterbö's protests and gave Lars-Olav Vindenes a yellow card for diving instead. Lars-Olav Vindenes hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Eirik Solheim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Halvard Østvang in the 21st minute of the match. After 21 played minutes Säterbö got a freekick which was hit by Lars-Olav Vindenes. In the 25th minute, Halvard Østvang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Kristian Mjelde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th minute Halvard Østvang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eirik Solheim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Klæboe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Eirik Solheim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
After a rather tough play, Alhusstranda's Sondre Corneliussen got a free kick in the 59th minute. Jonathan Klæboe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kristian Mjelde could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Bernt Gausdal made a huge save. When Oddvar Granum fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Säterbö's protests and gave Oddvar Granum a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Alhusstranda fans cheered their team off the field, for while Säterbö had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
