The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Christian Karlsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John-Einar Brekke in the 4th minute of play. John-Einar Brekke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Karlsen having to interfere. When Sebastian Kulseth fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sele FF's protests and gave Sebastian Kulseth a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Sele FF's Sebastian Kulseth got a free kick in the 11th minute. After 13 played minutes Sele FF got a freekick which was hit by Odd Lillegård. Bård Bakstad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roald Aabø in the 16th minute of the match. Endre Vatland's late challenge caught a Vadbu BF's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Endre Vatland helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Sele FF's Endre Vatland got a free kick in the 17th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Vadbu BF's Fred Halland broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Christian Karlsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from John-Einar Brekke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Sebastian Kulseth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sele FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Kulseth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bård Bakstad breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the game, Sele FF's Sebastian Kulseth nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bård Bakstad made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Vadbu BF getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Erling Sandøy hit a great ball. Sebastian Kulseth struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Bård Bakstad didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sele FF. Bård Bakstad took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Kulseth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roald Aabø sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Karlsen made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when John-Einar Brekke sent off a good shot on target. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyrre Skogland in the 51st minute of play forced Sele FF's goalkeeper Christian Karlsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roald Aabø fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bård Bakstad having to interfere. Christian Karlsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kyrre Skogland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John-Einar Brekke's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Christian Karlsen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. Bård Bakstad showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Kulseth in the 63rd minute of the match. Sebastian Kulseth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Bård Bakstad tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kyrre Skogland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Kyrre Skogland came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Vadbu BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyrre Skogland couldn't finish the play. Bård Bakstad made an important save on a dangerous shot by Roald Aabø in the 74th minute. Roald Aabø sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John-Einar Brekke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Christian Karlsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With his leg Bård Bakstad managed to avoid a goal in the 83rdth minute, when Sele FF's Roald Aabø fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Kyrre Skogland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 85th minute, Odd Lillegård hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kyrre Skogland fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Karlsen having to interfere. When Kyrre Skogland came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Vadbu BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyrre Skogland couldn't finish the play. If Kyrre Skogland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Sele FF had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
