The referee ignored Lilleng FF's protests and gave Kristian Fischer a yellow card for diving instead. Kristian Fischer hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Gjermund Bjerke took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias Melheim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mathias Melheim in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gjermund Bjerke saved Lilleng FF from getting behind. 21 minutes into the match, Kristian Fosen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Christian Engvik. Tromsdal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kristian Fosen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Kristian Fosen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Engvik having to interfere. In the 28th minute Kristian Fosen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christian Engvik saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Engvik showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torgeir Isachsen in the 29th minute of the match. Mathias Melheim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Morten Martinsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Gjermund Bjerke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Lilleng FF getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Thomas Pedersen hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torgeir Isachsen to make the kick off. Terje Frydenlund hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Mathias Melheim charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mathias Melheim the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Lilleng FF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tromsdal the free kick. A collision led to Lilleng FF getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. After 77 played minutes, Tromsdal's Johannes Raknes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gjermund Bjerke came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tromsdal reached it. Thomas Pedersen's late challenge caught a Tromsdal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomas Pedersen helped the player get up and apologised. 79 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Tromsdal's Mathias Melheim fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After having played for 87 minutes, Torgeir Isachsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lilleng FF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Torgeir Isachsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lilleng FF's Gjermund Bjerke played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathias Melheim in the 89th minute of play. In the 93rd minute Morten Martinsen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gjermund Bjerke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Lilleng FF players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
