Gjønnevåg BF:s Odd-Eirik Fornes showed great skill when he stopped Aleksander Moland:s penalty. When Steffen Lilleeng fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gjønnevåg BF's protests and gave Steffen Lilleeng a yellow card for diving instead. Steffen Lilleeng hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Josef Brattås received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Oscar Lysgård tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 13 minutes, Thomas Stenberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gjønnevåg BF's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Stenberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stangnes's Oscar Lysgård played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Brattås in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Stangnes getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Martin Fimreite hit a great ball. Josef Brattås sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Thomas Stenberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Odd-Eirik Fornes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Vangen in the 28th minute of play. Stangnes's Sebastian Vangen got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Stangnes's zone, Thomas Stenberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Oscar Lysgård came out of the goal and Thomas Stenberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sebastian Vangen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Odd-Eirik Fornes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sebastian Vangen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Gjønnevåg BF booed when Stangnes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mikkel Eriksson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47thth minute of the game Josef Brattås who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Stangnes's Oscar Lysgård was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sebastian Vangen to make the kick off. Lasse Saltnes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 57 minutes, Martin Fimreite mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stangnes and the Gjønnevåg BF players grew even worse after the yellow card. Odd-Eirik Fornes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sebastian Vangen went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Stangnes fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gjønnevåg BF had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
