Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sondre Karlsrud kicked off to start the match. Trygve Aagesen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Langåker acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 8th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tormod Tvenge. After a rather tough play, Maarsund BF's Kent-Are Stranden got a free kick in the 10th minute. Roger Jelstads short, quick shot in the 11thth minute got Thomas Langåker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Joachim Sandvolls short, quick shot in the 19thth minute got Thomas Langåker to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Maarsund BF's Thomas Langåker got control of the ball when Roger Jelstad tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 27th minute, Jarle Frøiland hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the game, Verpe's Roger Jelstad nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomas Langåker made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Thomas Langåker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Tronstad in the 38th minute of the match. Thomas Langåker was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dennis Tronstad showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 40 minute of play. A collision led to Maarsund BF getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Kent-Are Stranden hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Verpe's Truls Remmen tried to score from far away in the 47th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
The wind increased when Dennis Tronstad made the kick off in the second half. Aslak Smestad was out of position in the 51 minute of play, and Sondre Karlsrud capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sondre Karlsrud really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1. In the 54th minute, Birger Myhrvold hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 55th minute Roger Jelstad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Langåker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maarsund BF's Thomas Langåker played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dennis Tronstad in the 56th minute of play. After 57 minutes of play, Verpe's Roger Jelstad made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thomas Langåker was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thomas Langåker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roger Jelstad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Birger Myhrvold fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aslak Smestad having to interfere. A collision led to Verpe getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Hugo Syrstad hit a great ball. If Trygve Aagesen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Maarsund BF booed when Verpe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Syrstad didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Dennis Tronstad had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Truls Remmen during the 82nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sondre Karlsrud in the 84th minute of play forced Verpe's goalkeeper Aslak Smestad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aslak Smestad came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Maarsund BF's Trygve Aagesen. But to his dismay, Trygve Aagesen quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Maarsund BF players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Verpe.
