The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martin Thygesen helped the player get up and apologised. Martin Thygesen kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Bjørnar Kvamsdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Frøseth having to interfere. When Henrik Røine fell near the penalty area in the 8th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Akset's protests and gave Henrik Røine a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th match minute, Akset was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrik Røine to maneuver through the defense. 9 minutes into the match, Georg Sundet had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sebastian Frøseth. Akset's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Georg Sundet was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Sebastian Frøseth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from August Leikanger in the 13th minute of the match. Bjørnar Kvamsdal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Frøseth having to interfere. Georg Sundet fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastian Frøseth having to interfere. After having played for 21 minutes, Bjørnar Kvamsdal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vardøy BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bjørnar Kvamsdal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vardøy BK's Jeppe Lundgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Vardøy BK from getting a goal against them. Andreas Kinn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeppe Lundgren read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Georg Sundet in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sebastian Frøseth saved Akset from getting behind. When Georg Sundet came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Vardøy BK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Georg Sundet couldn't finish the play. In the 39th minute Bjørnar Kvamsdal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Frøseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Vardøy BK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bjørnar Kvamsdal to strike the kick off in the second half. Bjørnar Kvamsdal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Sebastian Frøseth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andreas Kinn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Akset booed when Vardøy BK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Georg Marthinussen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeppe Lundgren stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joakim Sagen's shot from short distance in the 68th minute. The audience was convinced that Joakim Sagen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jeppe Lundgren was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. Jeppe Lundgren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Thygesen in the 74th minute of play. Sebastian Frøseth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bjørnar Kvamsdal in the 80th minute of the match. Georg Sundet sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Akset's Henrik Røine got a free kick in the 82nd minute. 0-2 became the score in the 87th minute when Bjørnar Kvamsdal elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The Akset fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Vardøy BK were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
