Arild Norderhaug dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Svend Polden in the 24th minute of play forced Høyvågen's goalkeeper Arild Norderhaug to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Høyvågen's goalkeeper Arild Norderhaug had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tor-Ivar Wibe. 27 minutes into the game, Mo's Svend Polden nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arild Norderhaug made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Per-Kristian Sundgot during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Høyvågen's Arild Norderhaug played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingar Skjæret in the 45th minute of play. Markus Martinsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bjørn Thommesen, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stian Haraldstad to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Bjørn Thommesen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Markus Martinsen. Bjørn Thommesen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1.
