In the 3rd minute Stian Skullerud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geir Fiksdal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 4th match minute, Bjørkedal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Eklund to maneuver through the defense. Marius Lundhaug hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Bjørkedal's Christian Sveum got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 10 minutes, Sebastian Hojem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bjørkedal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastian Hojem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 11 played minutes Rystad got a freekick which was hit by Arnstein Fuglestad. Even Evertsen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ørjan Engvik firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rystad's goalkeeper Ørjan Engvik, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Bjørkedal's Christian Sveum sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ørjan Engvik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Kasper Lerøy kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Rystad's Arnstein Fuglestad tried to score from far away in the 25th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Ole-Gunnar Schjetne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 34th match minute, Bjørkedal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Hojem to maneuver through the defense. Even Evertsen charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Even Evertsen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bjørkedal's Even Evertsen got a free kick in the 35th minute. Geir Fiksdal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ole-Gunnar Schjetne in the 37th minute of play. If Ole-Gunnar Schjetne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Sebastian Hojem had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Christian Sveum to strike the kick off in the second half. Terje Husabø kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Ferdinand Valland, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Sebastian Hojem might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ørjan Engvik. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Hojem ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th minute, Marius Lundhaug hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 72 minutes into the match, Bjørkedal's Sebastian Hojem sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ørjan Engvik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ørjan Engvik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Sveum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Rystad's Terje Husabø got a free kick in the 76th minute. 77 minutes into the game, Christian Sveum cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Ørjan Engvik was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ørjan Engvik made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Hojem in the 81st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathias Halleland during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Rystad booed when Bjørkedal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Halleland didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rystad's goalkeeper Ørjan Engvik, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ole-Petter Hovind's late challenge caught a Rystad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ole-Petter Hovind helped the player get up and apologised. Ole-Petter Hovind hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Rystad's Stian Skullerud managed to work through Bjørkedal's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Stian Skullerud dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 96th minute, Sebastian Hojem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Rystad players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bjørkedal.
