Sivert Espeseth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christian Sveum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 5 minutes into the game, Bjørkedal's Sebastian Hojem nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sivert Espeseth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Harald Ekelund in the 12thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Geir Fiksdal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sivert Espeseth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Hojem in the 15th minute of play. Kjartan Grøterud received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Geir Fiksdal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kjartan Grøterud recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Harald Ekelund in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geir Fiksdal saved Bjørkedal from getting behind. 25 minutes into the match, Bjørkedal's goalkeeper Geir Fiksdal had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kjartan Grøterud. Fridtjof Marvik's late challenge caught a Holstad's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fridtjof Marvik helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Holstad booed when Bjørkedal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fridtjof Marvik didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 26 played minutes Bjørkedal got a freekick which was hit by Fridtjof Marvik. Thomas Østlund struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Geir Fiksdal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Holstad. Holstad's Sivert Espeseth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fridtjof Marvik in the 32nd minute of play. The Holstad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sivert Espeseth should have stopped the shot. Geir Fiksdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harald Ekelund, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 45th minute, Kjartan Grøterud got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christian Sveum was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Sturle Theodorsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th minute of the match, Sebastian Hojem got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sivert Espeseth was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Bjørkedal booed when Holstad was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Linus Naustdal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ferdinand Valland hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Fridtjof Marvik kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Fridtjof Marvik was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Sturle Theodorsen didn't quite understand what happened when in the 66 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. When Benjamin Eklund fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bjørkedal's protests and gave Benjamin Eklund a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Bjørkedal getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Benjamin Eklund hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Holstad's Julius Haukaas got a free kick in the 69th minute. Sivert Espeseth made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Sebastian Hojem sent off a good shot on target. If Kjartan Grøterud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sebastian Hojem got free with Sivert Espeseth in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sivert Espeseth made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Sebastian Hojem sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Bjørkedal's Benjamin Eklund got a free kick in the 89th minute. Geir Fiksdal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Harald Ekelund's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. Sebastian Hojem received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Sivert Espeseth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bjørkedal's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
