Kentan's Jan-Aage Greve proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save Kentan from getting a goal against them. John-Einar Sæterdal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan-Aage Greve having to make a save. In the 7th minute, Jørgen Grønlien hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sverre Gaup got free with Jan-Aage Greve in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kentan's Aleksander Mørland got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thorbjørn Ausland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Asmund Selmer in the 22nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Birger Skarbø during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sverre Gaup's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jan-Aage Greve firmly grabbed it by the left post. Kentan's Jan-Aage Greve played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John-Einar Sæterdal in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of Koldal booed when Kentan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Birger Skarbø didn't get a good kick on the ball. Birger Skarbø was shown his second yellow card after 37 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Sverre Gaup came free with the goalkeeper in the 41st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jan-Aage Greve could save by the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Aleksander Mørland could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Thorbjørn Ausland made a huge save. Sverre Gaup struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Jan-Aage Greve didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Koldal. Thorbjørn Ausland made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Aleksander Mørland sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, John-Einar Sæterdal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Koldal's supporters rose to their feet, but John-Einar Sæterdal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan-Aage Greve breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sverre Gaup struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Jan-Aage Greve didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Koldal. When Aleksander Mørland came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Kentan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aleksander Mørland couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, one of Kentan:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Kentan. The referee gave Koldal a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ole-Gunnar Fagernes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kentan's Jan-Aage Greve. 1-1. Kristian Kaldestad's late challenge caught a Kentan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kristian Kaldestad helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th match minute, Koldal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristian Kaldestad to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 88 minutes, Aleksander Mørland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kentan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aleksander Mørland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sverre Gaup sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Despite being the better team, Koldal failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
