The referee ignored Kirkenær BF's protests and gave Halvdan Aaby a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Kirkenær BF getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Halvdan Aaby hit a great ball. Andreas Karlsen hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Heine Giese showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Storm Furu in the 42nd minute of the match. Kirkenær BF were furious when Halvdan Aaby was red carded, 43 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Heine Giese was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Frank Alver capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Frank Alver really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Johnnie Ekström was shown his second yellow card after 88 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 88th minute, Johnnie Ekström hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 93rd minute Arild Helmersen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Håvard Skramstad saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 94 minutes, Rune Holter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MCFC and the Kirkenær BF players grew even worse after the yellow card. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Kirkenær BF walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
