Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tommie van der Linden got the match started through his kick off. Lucien Piening stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Theo Aelbrecht's shot from short distance in the 2nd minute. Hub Pronk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommie van der Linden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Pieter Vennegoor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hub Pronk was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Tommie van der Linden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute, Pieter-Jan Mosselveld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pieter-Jan Mosselveld's late challenge caught a Veere FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pieter-Jan Mosselveld helped the player get up and apologised. In the 27th minute, Pieter-Jan Mosselveld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eesveen HC's Hub Pronk played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommie van der Linden in the 31st minute of play. After 32 minutes of play Eesveen HC's Pieter-Jan Mosselveld was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Simon Zeydeveld received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Lucien Piening tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Theo Aelbrecht recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Simon Zeydeveld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Simon Maseland managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eesveen HC's supporters rose to their feet, but Simon Maseland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lucien Piening breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Simon Zeydeveld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Piening having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Pieter Vennegoors short, quick shot in the 57thth minute got Hub Pronk to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 59 minutes into the game, Veere FC's Pieter Vennegoor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hub Pronk made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Pieter Vennegoor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pieter Vennegoor got free with Hub Pronk in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Simon Zeydeveld fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucien Piening having to interfere. Lucien Piening made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Zeydeveld in the 74th minute of play. Sebastiaan Boeve charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sebastiaan Boeve the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Eesveen HC's Sebastiaan Boeve got a free kick in the 79th minute. Hub Pronk made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommie van der Linden in the 80th minute of play. Hub Pronk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommie van der Linden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 minutes, Simon Maseland mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Eesveen HC and the Veere FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. With a little luck, Eesveen HC's Hub Pronk got control of the ball when Pieter Vennegoor tried to sneak it across the goal line. Simon Zeydeveld sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Veere FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. John de Bruin hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, Veere FC's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Zeydeveld came free, but Lucien Piening reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Veere FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Veere FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
