In the 9th minute, Pieter-Jan Mosselveld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hub Pronk stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Floris Hooiveld's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. If Mark Broekema had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hub Pronk was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Floris Hooiveld capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Floris Hooiveld really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 21 minutes into the match, Eesveen HC's Theo Aelbrecht sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joris Asselbergs narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Eesveen HC booed when Ritsamuzijl was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristof Smit didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eesveen HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simon Zeydeveld was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joris Asselbergs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theo Aelbrecht, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 35th minute, Theo Aelbrecht made a precise shot to the right of Joris Asselbergs. Ritsamuzijl's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 38 minutes, Mark Broekema mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ritsamuzijl and the Eesveen HC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Mark Broekema kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Eesveen HC's Simon Zeydeveld got a free kick in the 46th minute.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Theo Aelbrecht to make the kick off. In the 55th minute Floris Hooiveld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hub Pronk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Eesveen HC's zone, Floris Hooiveld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hub Pronk came out of the goal and Floris Hooiveld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hub Pronk showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Broekema, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. A collision led to Ritsamuzijl getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Koos Busch hit a great ball. Theo Aelbrecht sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eesveen HC's Simon Zeydeveld got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joris Asselbergs made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Simon Zeydeveld sent off a good shot on target. Joris Asselbergs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Aelbrecht in the 71st minute of play. Ritsamuzijl's Joris Asselbergs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theo Aelbrecht in the 81st minute of play. Marinus Grol hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Theo Aelbrecht sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mark Broekema in the 89th minute of play forced Eesveen HC's goalkeeper Hub Pronk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
