If Carel Sleiffer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Veulen HC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Karel Zeeman hit a great ball. Carel Sleiffer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Huib Saanen hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Frederik Groten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Negenhuizen FC defense, Gert Jan Deitmers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Co Ravenbergen. The Negenhuizen FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Co Ravenbergen should have stopped the shot. Jan Veltrop showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anton Staarman, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Co Ravenbergen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frederik Groten in the 29th minute of play. Tommie Aalberts's late challenge caught a Veulen HC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tommie Aalberts helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Negenhuizen FC getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Tommie Aalberts hit a great ball. Frederik Groten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Co Ravenbergen read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. With his leg Co Ravenbergen managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Veulen HC's Gert Jan Deitmers fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 37th match minute, Veulen HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roelof Weerman to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute of the match Fokke Hoogstrate sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jan Veltrop skillfully saved the ball. Jan Veltrop made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carel Sleiffer in the 45th minute of play. When Negenhuizen FC's Carel Sleiffer in 47 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Jan Veltrop guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederik Groten in the 52nd minute of play forced Negenhuizen FC's goalkeeper Co Ravenbergen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan Veltrop made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Anton Staarman sent off a good shot on target. If Carel Sleiffer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Carel Sleiffer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Veltrop was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. With a little luck, Veulen HC's Jan Veltrop got control of the ball when Anton Staarman tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carel Sleiffer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan Veltrop having to make a save. In the 73rd minute, Anton Staarman fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After a defensive mix-up in Veulen HC's zone, Carel Sleiffer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan Veltrop came out of the goal and Carel Sleiffer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jan Veltrop was out of position in the 76 minute of play, and Anton Staarman capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anton Staarman really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. The audience was convinced that Carel Sleiffer's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Veltrop was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Co Ravenbergen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gert Jan Deitmers in the 82nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Negenhuizen FC's Huib Saanen got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Tommie Aalberts kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Oscar Bijl took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Co Ravenbergen. Negenhuizen FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 90th match minute, Veulen HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinhard de Groot to maneuver through the defense. Anton Staarman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Jan Veltrop made a huge save. After 95 minutes, Karel Zeeman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Veulen HC and the Negenhuizen FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 96th minute, Carel Sleiffer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Negenhuizen FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
