The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maikel Valentijn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Coos Rooy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alwin Haas in the 6th minute of the match. The supporters of Wolfhagen booed when Terhorne was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anton Oosterbaan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Otto Niemeyer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otto Niemeyer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Coos Rooy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otto Niemeyer in the 17th minute of play. A collision led to Wolfhagen getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Jim Krijnenburg hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the game, Falco Oude Kamphuis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wolfhagen's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Terhorne the free kick. In the 25th minute, Falco Oude Kamphuis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jim Krijnenburg in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jouke Assendelft prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alwin Haas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Coos Rooy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otto Niemeyer in the 33rd minute of play forced Wolfhagen's goalkeeper Coos Rooy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Terhorne's Jouke Assendelft got control of the ball when Maikel Valentijn tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alwin Haas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Coos Rooy read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Jim Krijnenburg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wolfhagen's supporters rose to their feet, but Jim Krijnenburg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jouke Assendelft breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 47 minutes, Maikel Valentijn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wolfhagen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Maikel Valentijn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

51 minutes into the match, Wolfhagen's goal looked a bit too open when Alwin Haas came free, but Coos Rooy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Coos Rooy made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Otto Niemeyer sent off a good shot on target. Coos Rooy made an important save on a dangerous shot by Otto Niemeyer in the 60th minute. Bert Seinstra helped the player get up and apologised. Bert Seinstra kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. After having played for 76 minutes, Alwin Haas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Terhorne's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alwin Haas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wolfhagen! During the 87th minute of the match Bastiaan Witting completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Bastiaan Witting a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 88 played minutes Wolfhagen got a freekick which was hit by Bastiaan Witting. Coos Rooy was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Wilco Sneijder. Alwin Haas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 97th minute Alwin Haas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Coos Rooy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Terhorne players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
