Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hans van Heiningen started the match with the kick off. Aasterein's Carsten van Zalen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joeri Janssens in the 4th minute of play. After 6 minutes, Joost Kamps mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aasterein and the Didam players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Aasterein booed when Didam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godfried de Boer didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Jean-Paul Heije managed to get in a good position for a shot. Aasterein's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean-Paul Heije was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacco Rogaars breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 15 played minutes Didam got a freekick which was hit by Godfried de Boer. Bertus Thole, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Didam's defense didn't have a chance, in the 18th minute, when Hans van Heiningen scored to the left of an out of position Jacco Rogaars, making the score, 1-0. Joeri Janssens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carsten van Zalen having to interfere. Jacco Rogaars showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans van Heiningen in the 29th minute of the match. The supporters of Aasterein booed when Didam was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pascall Som didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Didam's goalkeeper Jacco Rogaars had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Harm Scheepstra. Jacco Rogaars showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans van Heiningen, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Pascall Som's late challenge caught a Aasterein's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pascall Som helped the player get up and apologised. After 35 played minutes Didam got a freekick which was hit by Pascall Som. 39 minutes into the match, Joeri Janssens notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Aasterein's Carsten van Zalen. Carsten van Zalen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After having played for 45 minutes, Harm Scheepstra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aasterein's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harm Scheepstra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hans van Heiningen was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 47th minute. Aasterein's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joeri Janssens stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Joeri Janssens came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Didam fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joeri Janssens couldn't finish the play. Pascall Som kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. In the 68th minute, Didam's Joeri Janssens dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans van Heiningen in the 72nd minute of play forced Didam's goalkeeper Jacco Rogaars to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 79 played minutes, Didam's Anton Jaliens shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Carsten van Zalen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Didam reached it. Joeri Janssens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carsten van Zalen having to interfere. Aasterein's Carsten van Zalen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joeri Janssens in the 84th minute of play. Hans van Heiningen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jean-Paul Heije struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Jacco Rogaars didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Aasterein. Joeri Janssens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Carsten van Zalen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Didam supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Didam would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
