Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Meerssen's Roger Sluis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Teo Degens kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Roger Sluis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arno Post was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. If Roger Sluis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heiko Slot recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hayum's Arno Post played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roger Sluis in the 19th minute of play. In the 19th minute, Roger Sluis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Meerssen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Arno Post took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Schaeffer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute, Roger Sluis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cees Colen came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Hayum's Edwin Graaf. But to his dismay, Edwin Graaf quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Meerssen's Johan de Jong got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After 36 minutes, Edwin Graaf made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Meerssen's Cees Colen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 40th minute, Heiko Slot fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Richard Schaeffer took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arno Post. Arno Post dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Heiko Slot was the one to do the kick off. During the 53rd minute of the match Ted Zorge completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ted Zorge a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 54th minute, Ted Zorge hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 58 minutes, Richard Schaeffer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meerssen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Richard Schaeffer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arno Post showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Sluis in the 59th minute of the match. Edwin Graaf sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cees Colen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Heiko Slot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 68th minute, Fokke Zondervan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute, Frank Blom hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alex Winter got free with Arno Post in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Heiko Slot fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hayum's protests and gave Heiko Slot a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Hayum's Heiko Slot got a free kick in the 85th minute. Edwin Graaf scored 3-3 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cees Colen, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Daan de Putter fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hayum's protests and gave Daan de Putter a yellow card for diving instead. In the 94th minute, Richard Schaeffer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
