Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Roger Sluis kicked off to start the match. Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Joeri van Nistelrooij successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Teo Degens kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Joeri van Nistelrooij made an important save on a dangerous shot by Richard Schaeffer in the 12th minute. Thijs Brandsma took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cees Colen. Cees Colen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Bill ter Averst kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Alex Winter shot a long shot in the 24th minute and a light blocked Joeri van Nistelrooij hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-1. When Richard Schaeffer came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Meerssen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Richard Schaeffer couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd match minute, Schenkel FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferry van Zalen to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mirko Broerse in the 40th minute of play forced Meerssen's goalkeeper Cees Colen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mirko Broerse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thijs Brandsma struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Cees Colen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Schenkel FC. In the 47thth minute of the game Thijs Brandsma who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meerssen's Cees Colen was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mirko Broerse stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Richard Schaeffer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joeri van Nistelrooij having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Meerssen's zone, Mirko Broerse stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cees Colen came out of the goal and Mirko Broerse tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bill ter Averst's late challenge caught a Meerssen's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bill ter Averst helped the player get up and apologised. Bill ter Averst hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Richard Schaeffer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Joeri van Nistelrooij tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Meerssen's Roger Sluis got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cees Colen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mirko Broerse, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Joeri van Nistelrooij showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Sluis in the 88th minute of the match. In the 89th minute Roger Sluis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joeri van Nistelrooij saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Schenkel FC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Roger Melker hit a great ball. If Roger Sluis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
