Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Emiel Pik started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Chris Veltman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Carel Denneboom read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Eiland HC's Carel Denneboom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martien Sans in the 9th minute of play. Carel Denneboom showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chris Veltman, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 14th minute, Boukjan Ter left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Eiland HC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 24 minutes into the game, Eiland HC's Boukjan Ter nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henk-Jan Temen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Boukjan Ter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Henk-Jan Temen made a huge save. Carel Denneboom took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chris Veltman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Martien Sans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Chris Veltman came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ritthem HC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Veltman couldn't finish the play. Mitchell Krijnenburg hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After 43 played minutes Eiland HC got a freekick which was hit by Remond Hofkamp. When the match had gone on for 49 minutes, Martien Sans put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Carel Denneboom. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chris Veltman to make the kick off. Emiel Pik received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Henk-Jan Temen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Martien Sans's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Carel Denneboom skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A hard shot by Tonnie Buys from long distance, 63 minutes into the match, got Carel Denneboom's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Gert Jan Molenaar hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Chris Veltman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carel Denneboom came out and tried to block the shot, but Chris Veltman slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 65th minute. In the 73rd match minute, Ritthem HC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karel de Bruin to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute of the match René Anker shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Henk-Jan Temen showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 77th minute Emiel Pik shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henk-Jan Temen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martien Sans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carel Denneboom having to interfere. Remond Hofkamp took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henk-Jan Temen. Henk-Jan Temen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ritthem HC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Eiland HC.
